Founder, CEO at Althea
Niko Skievaski is an entrepreneur, psychonaut, and systems builder living in Boulder, Colorado, where he’s raising two kids and thinking a lot about the future we’re building for them. He’s the founder and CEO of Althea, a public-benefit company that helps people safely access legal, guided psychedelic therapy by connecting participants with licensed facilitators and supporting the clinics and practitioners who provide that care.
Before Althea, Niko co-founded and scaled a healthcare technology company that raised nearly $100 million, giving him deep experience navigating highly regulated healthcare systems. His path into psychedelics was personal as well as professional, shaped by his own experiences with psilocybin and its profound impact on his family, including end-of-life healing.
At Althea, Niko is focused on building ethical, human-centered infrastructure for psychedelic care, including education, outcomes, and access. As part of that work, Althea recently acquired Tricycle Day, one of the most trusted psychedelic newsletters, to help bridge the gap between widespread interest in psychedelics and safe, legal pathways to experiencing them. Niko sees psychedelics not as recreational drugs, but as serious tools for connection, healing, and growth—and he approaches entrepreneurship itself as a creative practice in service of human flourishing.
